Biography
About Sarah
Dr Sarah Rudebeck is a senior clinical psychologist in paediatric neuropsychology at King's College Hospital, London, where she assesses children and young people with acquired brain injuries, epilepsy, stroke and brain tumours, and has worked in NHS neuroscience and neurorehabilitation services for over a decade. In private practice she is clinical director of Clinical Psychology Practice London, where she leads cognitive and neuropsychological assessments for children, young people and adults.
After a first degree at the University of Birmingham, Sarah completed a master's and a DPhil at the University of Oxford, where her doctoral research was on the medial temporal lobe and recognition memory. She trained as a clinical psychologist at Royal Holloway, University of London, qualifying in 2015, and holds a postgraduate diploma in paediatric neuropsychology from UCL. Her research on memory, neurodevelopment and acquired brain injury is published in journals including the Journal of Neuroscience, Hippocampus and Epilepsia.
Sarah co-founded Recallify with Dr Berkan Sesen in 2024. The idea came from her clinical work, where a teenage stroke survivor with profound amnesia told her: "I wish I could live every day over and over until I can remember it." Recallify is being evaluated in an NIHR-funded feasibility study in acquired brain injury, and in 2026 Sarah won a £75,000 Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award, one of 61 from 1,590 applications, to build Recallify Classroom for pupils aged 11 to 18 with special educational needs.
She writes and speaks about memory, ADHD, brain injury and why psychologists should shape the design of AI tools, including in The Psychologist, GQ and The Mirror, and on the ADHD Women's Wellbeing and ADHDUK podcasts.
