In our latest update to Recallify, we’re excited to introduce a powerful new feature: smart categorisation for your voice recordings. This AI-powered enhancement automatically classifies your recordings into meaningful categories, making it easier than ever to organise and take action on your important memories.
The Power of Categorization
When we created Recallify, our goal was simple: help people remember what matters most to them. We quickly learned that different types of memories often require different types of follow-up actions. A reminder to pick up groceries needs different treatment than clinical notes from a doctor’s appointment or meeting minutes from work.
That’s why we’ve introduced intelligent categorisation that automatically sorts your recordings into these key categories:
Our AI-powered system now automatically categories your contents into:
- Reminders: Time-sensitive items you need to remember (like “Pick up dry cleaning by Thursday“)
- Tasks: Action items that need to be completed (such as “Fix the leaking faucet“)
- Planning: Future arrangements and coordination points (e.g., “Trip to Paris in June“)
- Meetings: Professional discussions and appointments (like “Marketing team brainstorm“)
- Instructions: Step-by-step directions or procedures (such as “How to set up the new printer“)
- Clinical: Medical observations and health information (e.g., “Blood pressure readings“)
- Learning: Educational content and study notes (like “French vocabulary review“)
- Reflections: Personal thoughts and journal entries (such as “Thoughts on recent career change“)
- Other: Miscellaneous content that fits multiple or no categories
Smart Features Based on Smart Categories
What makes our categorisation system truly powerful is how it enables category-specific features that enhance your experience. Recallify now adapts to different types of content, offering you the right tools at the right time.
Smart Calendar Integration (Available Now)
The first of these category-specific features is already live: smart calendar suggestions. Recallify will automatically suggest setting a calendar reminder for content (voice, text, audio, video) that belongs to one of these categories: Reminders, Planning, Tasks.
For example, when you record a plan like “going to Bromley shopping center tomorrow at 10am,” Recallify:
- Automatically identifies it as a Planning category
- Displays the category prominently on your recording
- Offers to set a calendar reminder when you star the item
This means no more forgetting important tasks or appointments—when you record something time-sensitive, Recallify recognizes the category and prompts you to add it directly to your calendar with just a few taps.

Action Points Extraction
For recordings in the Tasks, Meetings, and Planning categories, we’ll be introducing automatic action point extraction. Recallify will identify specific to-do items mentioned in your recordings and present them as a clear, actionable list.

For content in the Learning category, we’re developing a feature to automatically generate flashcards from your educational recordings.

Recallify’s categorization system uses advanced AI to understand the context and purpose of your recordings. Our models have been trained on thousands of examples to recognize patterns in speech that indicate different types of content.
This happens entirely in the background while your recording is being processed—the same technology that creates your summaries and titles now also determines the appropriate category, requiring no extra effort on your part
